Frequently Asked Questions
What Spanish Adventures does
With its Spanish Adventures program, Canterbury Consulting Spain offers the opportunity to study Spanish in Spain in one of three ways: individual in-person, individual online and in-person small groups.
The program was developed with students’ learning experience in mind. Our goal is to encourage and facilitate the students’ exposure to the Spanish way of life and its cultural richness.
It is intended for both young students and adults who have an adventurous spirit and a desire to explore Spain in some of the best months of their lives.
With a high-quality, solid learning program, students will develop their communication skills and then reinforce them by being immersed in the city of Madrid.
Is this program for me?
Surely, one of the three language-learning methods suits you. If you want to learn the language and feel immersed in this country’s wonderful culture, yes, of course it is for you!
Are the classes in Spanish?
Yes, the classes are in Spanish–immersion is the fastest, most effective, and most fun way to learn.
How long are the courses?
Each course has a calculated duration so that the student can take advantage of the time, learn quickly and pick up the level. There are online courses as short as 5-10 hours, to longer courses of 114 hours for face-to-face groups.
You can see the hours of each course by clicking here.
How many levels do you offer?
We offer all 6 levels: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2.
Are your classes expensive?
The prices of our courses are very competitive; if you compare them with other intensive Spanish centers you will see that they are not expensive. Don’t think that by studying the language in a bigger and more expensive school you will learn faster or receive better instruction. Our program is on par with the best schools.
What minimum age do I need to be?
The program is designed for adults and young adults. The minimum age is 18 years old.
How can I know my level of Spanish?
The tests that you can take on the website are for guidance only, but before assigning you to a group we will have an interview by videoconference and we’ll give you a brief level test. We are sure to get it right!
When can I start?
You can start the courses, in already organized groups, on any Monday once you have formalized your registration.
If I don’t live in Europe, can I book a course?
Yes, you can book your classes by obtaining a student visa from the Spanish embassy. We will help you to obtain it.
Do I need a VISA to go to Spain?
If you are not a European citizen you will need a student visa which you can apply for at the Spanish embassy. We can help.
Can I book for next week?
Students can join already organized groups every Monday with no problem, once the registration has been formalized.
How do I make a reservation?
Click on the ‘Contact’ button and fill in the form indicating the course you are interested in. We will answer you shortly, explaining all of your next steps.
How can I pay?
Reservations can be paid by credit/debit card or bank transfer. The other payments are made at the school office just before the course starts, or when you are already in Madrid.
Online classes are paid by credit/debit card or bank transfer before the course starts.
Will I receive a diploma?
Yes, at the end of the course we will give you a free diploma of participation that will certify your level achieved, time completed and proper use of the classes.
What is a DELE certificate?
It is the official qualification awarded by the Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Spanish Ministry of Education. DELE stands for «Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera». If you want to obtain it, we can prepare you for the exams.
Can I make up missed classes?
Each course is allotted a number of hours. If for any reason you miss a class, with enough prior notice, you can make it up without any problem.
